Despite garnering some of the finest players in the area, this stop crowned a repeat champion in the form of Peter Kippie, who stood firm and defended his stance at the top.Six players held out for the cash on Sunday, with 13-year-old Jeff Robson going up against Ray Jansen. Robson pulled it off, cruising to the hot seat with a 5-1 win, playing fast and loose.
Working through the west side of the chart, Kippie took a won over Josh Rundle to meet Paul Duell in the quarterfinal match, where Kippie prevailed hill-hill. Waiting in the semifinal match, Jansen then met Kippie to see who would earn the right to advance. It was a close match, but Kippie scored an 8-6 victory. Going over the bridge to see young Robson, Kippie worked out a defensive ploy, leaving his opponent on the rail when there was no runout. Frustration set in, and Jansen succumbed 9-0 in the first set. In the second set, the score seesawed back and forth, but Kippie won the match with a two-rack margin.
