Kraber Takes First Fast Eddie’s WinFast Eddie’s Olhausen 9-Ball Tour / Houston, TXby Bill FullerThe battle cry for the ladies of “Let’s play pool!” was heard loud and long at the first Fast Eddie’s Olhausen 9-Ball Tour event of the yea,r sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues. Twenty-four ladies showed up to tear it up on the mean green January 22 in Houston, TX, with none able to outperform Jennifer Kraber. Natalie Esparza of Houston grabbed the fourth-place slot after making some great come backs in her earlier matches. Kim Pierce of Bastrop showed what she’s made of as she took the long road to third place after losing her first-round match to Amanda Lampert. When the dust cleared at the end of a long day, Helen Hayes of San Antonio held the hot seat with Jennifer Kraber from Austin coming off the one-loss side to match up in the finals. With the first set tied hill-hill, Hayes had a slight angle cut on the 8 with the 9 at the other end of the table. She hit the 8 into the heart of the pocket only to have it pop out onto the table. Kraber got out, and it was on to the second set.
The second set started near midnight, with the ladies battling each other and exhaustion, until they again were tied at 6-6. Kraber won the case game and her very first Tour victory.Results:1st Jennifer Kraber2nd Helen Hayes3rd Kim Pierce4th Natalie Esparza5th Amanda Lampert, Julia RappVisit InsidePOOL Magazine for the latest news from the sport of billiards, pool, and the Fast Eddies 9 Ball Tour.
