Makes Some Noise For Driedellon CNY 9-Ball Tourby Matthew PingorBaldwinsville, NY - Dave Driedell surpassed the 45 players that showed up for the CNY 9-Ball, as he took first place and $450. The February 25-26 event took place at Michelle’s Billiard Café, of Baldwinsville, NY, and featured a purse of $1,850. Due to the tour’s handicap system, Seth Delvillano fell in the hot seat match to Paul Marluzzi 7-7, when he neglected to win by two games. Delvillano then faced David Grau in the quarterfinals. Grau was good competition but could not hold any ground, and was defeated 8-7.
Delvillano thought that he had something that could last. His horizon looked good. This may have gone through his head as he played Dreidel in the semifinals, and if it did, the moment was brief. Delvillano could only win one game and his hope was brief. Dreidell ended the match 7-1. Waiting patiently for Driedell, Marluzzi had stored up enough energy to win the first match of the finals 7-6. Unfortunately, he did not have the strength to carry that out. Dreidell took advantage of this and won the next match 7-5, to take first place.
