Mansion Gets Twisted Opening March 1st, 2007
By Tim Taylor

So you want to whip up a new twisted mixture of fun and entertainment. First you’ll need some ingredients. Might I suggest the following: Take a dash of fine dining, add a touch of live entertainment and fun, sprinkle your mixture with a banquet facility, knead the entire mix together with a world class billiards club, and top it all off with a swirl of mansion with water way views. What you come up with is the newest thing to hit something old in the greater Seattle / Tacoma area. WINFIELDS TWISTED CUE CLUB.

Located at 539 Broadway Tacoma, Washington 98402, in historic “David’s Mansion” The club offers a truly unique, un-paralleled entertainment experience. The mansion, built in 1888, sits perched along a hill side with an un-obstructed view of Tacoma’s Commencement Bay. Formerly the “University Union Club” and “David’s on Broadway” restaurant, the mansion has recently undergone a complete renovation, with special attention to the mansion’s architectural styling’s and rustic charm. Believe me folk’s this place is truly a “one of a kind”.

Hungry? The club offers fine dining at an affordable price, Menus prepared by master chef Thomas Mott, AKA “Chef Thomas”( Formerly Chef of Spirit of Puget Sound Cruises, Lake Union Café, and other High Class Restaurants. Your dining experience will be complimented by views of Tacoma’s Commencement bay, and beautiful Mount Rainer. Boasting an 1100 square foot deck, out door dining is a must. This may just be the perfect place to relax and dine while viewing the area’s annual “International Tall Ships Festival” or Fourth of July fireworks displays. The same dining experience and attention to customer care can be had throughout the entire club. Oh, did I mention daily breakfast Buffet, a Sunday Brunch, on-site bakery and full Espresso Service? Chef Thomas has something in the works to please even the most discriminating palate.

Looking for some entertainment after that world class meal? Winfield’s Twisted Cue Club has it. Located just off the restaurant, the “Palm Room” lounge offers a variety of entertainment options, from Karaoke, Comedy Acts, to live Jazz. With a 1900’s era bar, large dance floor, and martini in hand, you may find yourself saying “Play it again Sam”.

Martini’s and caviar dreams not quite your style? The club has you covered there too. With just a short walk down an amazing stairway you’ll be entering the “Twisted Cue Club”. Fancy yourself a world renowned billiards player, or just “poke and hope”. The club has a variety of table types and sizes sure to fit your needs. With four seven foot coin op tables, and a world class Olhausen tournament table plus a nine foot early 1900 era antique Brunswick, each at a reasonable hourly rate, there’s a table here sure to match your competitive needs. The club offers a full bar, with a huge rock fireplace as a backdrop and out door deck. We’re talking ambiance here. Need new pool equipment, or maybe just equipment repair? The club offers that too with an in-house billiard supply / repair station. With both club sponsored pool tournaments, and nightly pool leagues including APA, TAP and BCA, the club aims to fulfill your every billiard need.

Got a special event, but don’t know where to hold it? Winfield’s Twisted Cue Club’s got you cover there as well. With a full banquet room available, the club can handle your event needs from company meetings, parties, to weddings inside or outside on the deck. This grand room, (once the mansion’s library), comes complete with fireplace and antique ambiance un-like any other venue. Catering events, either in house or out of house is a specialty of the club, and one in which “Chef Thomas” takes great pride in presenting.

When the owners of Winfield’s Twisted Cue Club” boast of a truly unique entertainment experience, it’s not just a line, it’s a fact. Visiting this jewel of the beautiful Pacific Northwest will absolutely make you a believer.
