McDougall Captures Newmarket Win

Brian McDougall triumphed over a high-caliber field to take first place on the Canadian 30K Tour’s March 10-11 billiard stop. Hosted by Dunlop Billiards in Newmarket, ONT, this stop drew 41 players to vie for top honors.
McDougall first bested Tol Kuy 7-1 to meet Chris Jenkins in the hot seat match. Having just sent Terry Davidson to the west side of the chart 9-6, Jenkins was in good form but rattled a 9 ball to go double-hill. McDougall closed out the match with a 7-6 victory, sending Jenkins to the left side.
On Sunday’s matches, Grace Nakamura had her best finish on the tour, ending up in a fifth-place tie with Davidson after being ousted by Tol Kuy. Revved up, Kuy went on to the quarterfinals against Bruce Hickey and prevailed in another double-hill match to advance. Jenkins was ready to try for a rematch in the finals and took the upper hand 8-5. His second meeting with McDougall was a one-sided match, with McDougall steamrolling through to victory 7-1.
