McNamara Nabs Baystate Tour’s First TitleBayState Invitational / Chelmsford, MAThe inaugural event of the BayState Invitational event kicked off July 16 in Chelmsford, MA, crowning Ray McNamara the tour’s first winner. This event attracted some of the best players in the New England region, all clashing like Titans at Country Club Billiards.The format of the tour is a race to 7 in 9-ball, with the winner having the option of racking his own. Local grinder Randy LaBonte suffered a loss to the favored Joe Tucker but rolled through the one-loss side until he met up with Jon James, who defeated him hill-hill.
