Midwest Billiard Expo/Open Kicks Off Today By InsidePOOL StaffThe Midwest Billiard Expo/Open began today at the beautiful Pheasant Run Resort just outside of Chicago, IL.  There are tournaments galore for amateur players, and both the 8-ball and 9-ball division have been filled to capacity.  The APA 5s and under event is scheduled to begin tonight at 7 p.m. as well.There are thousands of pool players either in the tournament room proper or playing in o­ne of the minis in the room across the walkway from the event.  Earl Strickland is o­n hand playing with the crowd.  Custom cue makers are out in force, and the media are here as well.
The cocktail party o­n Wednesday evening was great fun for everyone, and Steve Lillis of Gospel Trick Shot Ministry put o­n an artistic pool performance to wow the crowds.  Mike Massey, whose new book, Mike Massey's World of Trick Shots, will be released any day, sang a song for the crowd, and Robert Byrne, who also has a new book out, was present to sign autographs.InsidePOOL Magazine will be present all week, covering the event and posting stories.  Visit InsidePOOL for the latest in the world of billiards and pool.
