Moore is the Most on Viking Tour By Tori Hilty, InsidePOOL StaffStevie Moore went undefeated to win the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour’s stop this weekend at Gametime/Riptide in Greenville, SC. The stop drew 49 talented regional players, as well as some top names like Earl Strickland and Shawn Putnam. The $2,000-added stop took place at Jimmy Hodges’ $4,000,000 facility, which is 48,000 square feet of fun. With thirteen 9-foot tables and four 7-foot tables, dart boards, a dance floor, a fully stocked bar, 60 television sets and an outdoor patio with volleyball courts, the room has everything one could ask for.Former world bar table champ Moore, who won the last $2,000-added Viking Tour event at Gametime/Riptide, cruised through the winners’ bracket unhindered, defeating both Strickland and Putnam to reach the hot seat match. Local player BJ Ussery kept the match neck-and-neck. With Moore up 5-2 in the race to 7, it seemed like there was no hope for Ussery. However, Moore missed a key shot, allowing Ussery to the table to run a three-pack on his opponent to tie at 5 apiece. After a miss by Ussery, Moore again claimed the table to ultimately win 7-6.In the semis, Ussery defeated Scott Rabon to earn his chance at a rematch with Moore. The Carolina player won the last $5,000-added event and was looking at this tournament with a gleam in his eye. However, after a hill-hill nailbiter, Moore triumphed for the second time against Ussery, going on to take first place after his 7-6 win.
