Morra Scores 30K Billiards Tour FinaleCanadian 30K Tour / Waterloo, ONTby Willy HermozaThe Canadian 30K Tour gathered at Pool Paradise for their year-end event, with 40 billiard players showing up to compete. The field was contentious and of good caliber, and a fine young gun named John Morra emerged as the winner.
Tour regulars Rob Brandenburg and Morra matched up for the hot seat, with Brandenburg sending Morra to grind the west side with a 9-6 win. Brothers Harvey and Pahd Shognosh went at it on the one-loss side, with Pahd settling for fifth place. Harvey went on to challenge Jeff Lohmer in the quarterfinals but fell short, following his brother out the door. Lohmer didn’t expect the onslaught that Morra brought, as the youngster fired over and over at him until he won 10-1. In the finals rematch, Morra was unbeatable, winning the first set 10-7 and the second 10-6, besting Brandenburg for the title.Results:1st John Morra2nd Rob Brandenburg3rd Jeff Lohmer4th Harvey Shognosh5th Pahd ShognoshMike Patrowicz7th Mario MorraJack Bryan
