Morris Looking Strong on Florida Pro TourBy Richard DavisAs Day 2 of the seventh Seminole Florida Pro Tour stop began, the top 12 players were ready with their best games. The winners’ side played off first with the top eight. Newlywed “Rocket” Rodney Morris bested tournament director John DiToro 9-3 with two 9 balls on the break. Mario Cruz defeated Ronnie Wiseman 9-5, Ray Martin lost to Richard Broumpton 9-5, and Donnie Mills bested Marrek Darrek 9-6.The play moved to the one-loss side where Geo McLanahan lost to Wiseman 9-5, and John Ditoro lost to Rob Saez 9-3. Meanwhile, Ray “Cool Cat” Martin lost to Luis Viera 9-7 and Marrek Darrek lost to Richie Richeson 9-6.
The next round saw the top eight, where former champion Saez ousted Wiseman 9-7, and Richeson lost to Viera 9-7.
