Morris and Archer in the Hot Seat MatchOnly Rodney Morris and Johnny Archer remain as the two undefeated players in the Men's Professional Brunswick Pro Players Championship at Valley Forge, PA, and they will face off tomorrow afternoon at 12:45 PM. Morris defeated Ralf Souquet, winner of the 2002 U.S. Open, in the 7:45 PM rounds by the score of 10-8. He then went on to match up with Jose Garcia of Vineland, NJ, winning again 10-8. Archer had an equally challenging bracket, as he first faced snooker champion Steve Knight and won 10-5, and then went on to play Jose Parica of the Philippines, whom he defeated 10-6.Earl Strickland was eliminated by Evgeny Stalev in an incredible hill match. In the last game, Strickland played safe on the 2 ball, leaving a tough cut for Stalev, which he made, only to hook himself behind the 4. Stalev played a great safe on the 2, and Strickland managed to hit it but left Stalev a shot. "The Assasin" ran out to the 7 and was forced to play safe, leaving the 9 ball between the cue and the 7. Strickland kicked at the 7 and scratched, handing a 10-9 win to Stalev. Stalev went on to play Souquet in a grueling match and was eliminated by the score of 10-7.
Mike Davis is having a fantastic tournament. After defeating Corey Deuel 10-7, he was knocked into the one-loss bracket by Souquet earlier this afternoon. He then went on a ramage, defeating top players left and right. He first defeated Alex Pagulayan 10-8, then went on to play Santos Sambajon, winning 10-4. Finland's Mika Immonen was eliminated by Davis as well by the score of 10-5, and now Davis will face Steve Knight in tonight's last round.
