Nevel Levels the Field at Color of Money Billiards The latest Joss Tour Stop was held at Color Of Money Billiards the weekend of April 24-25 in the gorgeous Niagara Falls, ontario, with road warrior Larry Nevel triumphing over a field of 38. Owner Nello Robson and Mike Zuglan, tournament director, hosted the event with flawless dedication until the end. Needless to say, the pool players found a friend in the local tournament director Willy Hermoza (pictured to the right of Nevel), as he helped with some of the calls during the tournament and was available to answer questions regarding the event. This was the second time that the tour crossed the border to Canada from the U.S, and some of the players from the states who followed it were Danny “Kid Delicious” Basavich, Dan Kolacz from Buffalo, and Tony Ruberto and Jarrod Clowery from Boston, MA. Also some of the top locals were present, such as Jeff White, Chris Orme, Jim Wych, and John Jorgenson.
Larry Nevel once again showed his guns were fully loaded and both barrels recharged with cues. As he swept through the winners’ bracket, the semifinals came down to friends Jarrod Clowery and Tony Ruberto, with Clowery besting Ruberto 9-5. Business is business! The final match came down to a hill-hill nailbiter, and Clowery had an easy out. Unfortunately for him, he miscued, which turned out to be a fatal error. Nevel did not make a mistake and took the win on a hill-hill game. There can only be one winner, and Larry Nevel was it.Results: 1- Larry Nevel $ 15002- Jarrod Clowery $ 10003- Tony Ruberto $ 8004- Jim Wych $ 6005- Andrew Attard, John Jorgensen $ 4007- Dave McMahon, Dan Kolacz $ 2209- Dan Basavich, Ron Casanzio, John Morra, Paul Clutterbuck $ 100Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news in the sport of billiards and pool.
