No Walk in the ParkBy Bill RosenbergerIt wasn't as easy as a walk in the park, but Ron Park did emerge with an undefeated record to win the J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour stop at Burrkatt's Billiards in Monroe, NC. The New Year's Day event also featured two comebacks, one by Park and one by B. J. Ussery.Ussery's comeback was sparked by a second-round defeat to Eddie Little, and he battled all the way to the semifinals in the one-loss side, including a 9-6 win over Little in the quarterfinals match. Ussery faced Keith Kostszyck., who had just been ousted by Park in the hot seat match 9-1. In the semifinals, Ussery easily continued his winning streak by knocking out Kostszyck 9-5 and advancing to the finals to face Park. Both Park and Ussery have plenty of final match experience, and with Ussery's recent successes, he was probably the early favorite. After Ussery jumped out to a 4-1 lead, it looked like he might complete his comeback, but Park never gave in, fighting back to get the score even. The two then traded a few games back and forth, and Park's late rally gave him the 11-9 victory. Results:1st Ron Park $7002nd B.J.
