Noon Grabs Second Tour WinBy J.A. Barnes Robert Noon took home top-honors as the Fury Central Florida 9-Ball Tour made its way to Wally's Billiards in Lakeland, FL. The fourth-ranked Noon battled a field of 55 competitors at the May 1, event to claim his second victory on the tour. Third-ranked Tim Daniel clashed with Noon in the thrilling hot seat match. With only 11 points separating these two players in the tour's points race, the meeting proved to be of great significance to each player. The match was anybody's game to win as the two men battled to hill-hill, but it was Noon who clinched the spot in the finals by claiming the 7-6 victory.On the one-loss side James Hevener waited for Daniel in the semifinals. Hevener lost his fourth-round match, but went on to post four consecutive wins on the "B"-side including two shutouts. Daniel again found himself in a close match as the two shooters went hill-hill, but Hevener prevailed to reach the finals against Noon. Daniel was forced to settle for third place.The final match proved to be full of excitement as Hevener and Noon went game for game to reach hill-hill. With the title on the line, Noon took control of the decisive game and captured the title.
