North American Line-up Complete With the 2004 World Pool Championship just five weeks away, the Billiard Congress of America has announced the 14 American and 5 Canadian players set to represent them in Taipei this July at pool's number-o­ne event.Heading the list is the tournament's most succesful player - Earl "The Pearl" Strickland. His record of o­ne victory and two semifinal appearances in the past four years is streets ahead of the opposition and will mark him down as o­ne of the betting favourites for the title.Mosconi Cup men Johnny Archer, Jeremy Jones, Charlie Williams, and Rodney Morris will all be travelling with high hopes particularly "The Scorpion" who is revelling in the best form of his career.
Up-and-coming players such as John Schmidt, Mike Davis, and Tony Crosby will all be making their World Pool Championship debuts and will be looking to impress in front of an expected live TV audience of millions.From north of the border, the Maple Leaf challenge is headed by last year's runner-up Alex Pagulayan and Luc Salvas, who had a tremendous run in 2003 to reach the last 16.
