Orem Wins His First Tour StopKBP Central Florida Tour / Palm Harbor, FLby Rick DavisThe KBP Central Florida Tour swung into Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL, September 10, where Richie Orem took the top spot out of the 44-player field. This was the thirteenth stop on this year’s tour, and after only a handful of additional stops, the tour will return to Strokers for the season finale in November.Action on the one-loss side quickly heated up as the remaining players had the finals in their sights. Mike Destefano crushed Billy Schmidt 5-0, while Nomar Paula was only slightly gentler to Dan Whitten, eliminating him 5-2. Destefano and Paula had a strong quarterfinal battle, although Destefano quickly pulled ahead to take the match 5-3.
The hot seat match unfolded between Orem and Tim Daniel, where Orem prevailed 7-4. Daniel headed west to face the waiting Destefano, and before long Destefano was headed to the finals. The final match grinded at the players, who, after a long day, had to get through a race to9.
