In Round 13 of the one-pocket finals, Jose Parica made a stunning 3-0 sweep over Larry Nevel to win first place. Parica, who was undefeated throughout the event, made the first ball of the finals into Nevel's hole by accident. Unfazed, he won the first game of the match 8 to 5; Nevel had 6 but scratched, leaving an out for Parica. In the second game, Nevel tried for a long-rail flyer and barely missed, giving Parica the opportunity to run 7 and duck. Nevel then scratched, giving Parica an easy shot at his out ball and losing 8 to -1.
In the third and final game, Parica was on the hill to Nevel's 3 when Nevel made a tremendous one-rail bank and then left an easy crossbank for Parica, which he missed. Nevel played a fantastic kick to get Parica's ball out of his pocket and parked the cue behind a ball on the opposite end of the table and sat down with a smile. However, Parica got himself out of jail. Nevel made an excellent two-rail bank to bring the score to 6-5 Parica, but then he tried for a long-rail combo and fell short, allowing Parica to run out his last two balls, winning the match 3-0.On a side note, Max Eberle was awarded "Best Dressed Pool Player" for the tournament.
