The end of Round 12 in the Derby City Classic one-pocket event came and went, leaving in its wake Larry Nevel to face Jose Parica at 8 PM this evening. Nevel played Dee Adkins in Round 12 and defeated him by a definitive score of 3-1. Nevel, who tied for third place in the bank event earlier this week, is now the unofficial points leader of the tournament thus far. To win the one-pocket event, he will have to beat Parica twice, as Parica is undefeated.
On a side note, there is some interesting action going on in the 9-ball event. Rodney "The Rocket" Morris played Dennis Coulter earlier this afternoon. He had Coulter 6-1 when Coulter caught a groove and came back to 6-5 before Morris won 7-5 . Also, Russian phenom Evgeny Stalev lost 7-4 to Korean player Hwa Jeoung Young in Round Four. Eric Durbin was also in action in Round Four against George "Ginky" SanSouci. SanSouci was on the hill with Durbin at 3 when Durbin turned it around and won the match 7-6.
