The Reno Open is held at the Sands Regency Hotel and Casino in Reno, NV, twice a year and will end on Sunday, June 13, 2004.Scott “The Freezer” Frost and Rodney Morris were locked in a duel in the 7 p.m. matches on Friday evening. Frost quickly jumped to a 3-0 lead by icing a long combination down the side and then went to 4-0, 5-3, and 7-5. “Rocket” took control of the match and started the long climb back, tying on the hill before Morris took the win with an attention-getting series of shots.
Also winning in the 7 p.m. winners’ side matches were Brandon Ashcraft over Brian Law 9-2; Cliff Joyner over Tony Chohan 9-8; Barry Emerson over Isaac Runnels 9-7 in a hard-fought match; and Toronto's Alex Pagulayan defeated countryman Santos Sambajon, Jr., 9-4. Charles "Hillbilly" Bryant took a quick 7-0 lead over Max Eberle, who made a determined rally to bring it to 7-6 before Bryant finished him off 9-6. Ian Costello defeated Jose Parica in a difficult hill-hill decision. In the set's longest match, which lasted until 9:50 p.m., Mike Davis and B.J.
