In the featured match of the Mid-Atlantic 9-Ball Tournament in Chesapeake, VA, Efren Reyes soundly defeated fellow countryman Jose Parica by the score of 11-5. Reyes was down 3-0 in their match and then won 6 in a row, afterwards cruising to the victory. In a rematch of the 2001 U.S. Open finals, Mika Immonen avenged his 11-0 defeat in his match with Corey Deuel. When the score was 10-0 Immonen, he miscued on the 3 ball in the side pocket, allowing Deuel to get two games under his belt before coasting across the finish line, sending Deuel to the one-loss bracket. "Mad Max" Eberle came from behind in his match with Warren Kiamco to win 11-8. In the speediest match of the evening, Canada's Luc Salvas put up a good fight against InsidePOOL Magazine's 2002 Player of the Year, Francisco Bustamante, but was ultimately defeated 11-8. The final match to wrap up the evening was between recent Hall-Of-Fame addition Jim "King James" Rempe and Charlie Williams. Rempe had a 10-9 lead with a shot on the 8 ball and miscued, scratching on the 8 and offering Williams ball-in-hand to tie the match hill-hill. Unfortunately for Williams, he was forced to stretch for a shot on the 2 ball after the break, hanging the ball and leaving Rempe a road map to get out for the 11-10 victory. The other winners' matches concluded as follows:Young Hwa-Jeoung d.
