Rodriquez Moves On Up on the Tri-State 9-Ball Tourby Matthew PingorNew York, NY - Upon placing first February 18, Jorge Rodriquez was asked how he felt about winning his first Tri-State 9-Ball event; “It Feels Great, and it's been a long time coming,” he stated. Gracing the renowned Amsterdam Billiards & Bar of New York, NY, a field of 37 players congregated over the $1,000 added. The hot seat match saw Rodriquez encounter Brian Lau. This match did not last long. Rodriquez went fully automatic on Lau, winning 6-3. In another rapid performance, Caroline Pao lit Charles Bromley up. This was the quarterfinals and Pao had no intent of placing fourth. She won the match 6-3. Short matches became prevalent towards the end of this event. In the semifinals, Pao kept that trend going. She ended Lau’s appearance 6-1.
Pao had put on a show as she advanced to face Rodriquez in the finals. She was in the limelight and may have been favored to win the event. Maybe. Rodriquez saw it differently and showed her a thing or two as he ran to a 6-3 finish, taking first and leaving New York, NY with yet another story to tell.Results:1st Jorge Rodriquez2nd Caroline Pao3rd Brian Lau4th Charles Bromley5th Robert SalazarBrian Neill7th Michael TosadoJohn LyVisit Inside POOL Magazine for the latest news from the Tri State Tour.
