Saez Sweeps Seminole Pro Tour StopBy Alexis Broadbent SykesRobb Saez can count this weekend’s Seminole Pro Tour stop at Player’s Billiard Club in Melbourne, Florida as a victory after defeating Tommy “TK” Kennedy in the finals 13-6. The tournament took place April 24-25, 2004, and started with a field of 64 players before being whittled down to 16 at the start of play on Sunday. Players raced to 9 in this double-elimination tournament.Saez went home with $4,000, while second-place Kennedy settled for $2,000. Third place winner Randy Epperson went home with $1,500 dollars after being defeated by Kennedy in an extremely tight match-up. Kennedy started with three straight wins before Epperson came back to tie it up at 3-3. They remained in a heated race, going game for game, to tie it up at 8-8. Epperson appeared to have the victory in hand before missing the eight-ball, leaving the door open for Kennedy, who then went on to win 9-8.Rounding out the top four was Rodney Morris, whose fourth-place victory earned him $1,100. Other big names playing in this weekend’s tournament were the Hall of Fame’s Buddy Hall and former World Champion Mika Immonen, who won fifth and sixth place. Seventh and eighth place finishers Earl Strickland and Luis Viera also made good showings this weekend.Saez is having a great year, already winning second place in the Seminole Pro Tour’s first stop.
