Sakai led a small but talented field of ladies into Sunday's final matches, and she took her undefeated record into the hot seat match against Zinnie Panju, who won the 2004 Women's Amateur event at the 2004 Super Billiards Expo. While Panju played tough, Sakai was just too strong, besting her opponent 7-2. Sakai, who handed Pao her only defeat, was ready to go all the way and earn the qualifying spot. Sakai built a commanding 8-3 lead, but Pao gained some momentum with a win to get back in striking distance.
