Elite Billiards in Milltown, NJ, added $500 and played host to the Tri-State Tour's B-D handicapped 9-ball tournament on Sunday, September 26. After having defeated Jason Gesumaria in a 7-6 cliffhanger match, and winning five matches in a row, Warnock sat in the driver's seat. And as the result, Gesumaria's loss to Warnock locked him into third place, waiting for the rest of field to catch up.Tom Ho and Guy Iannuzzi both blazed through the one-loss side on their way to a quarterfinal match-up. Ho was knocked off earlier by Warnock 8-6, while Iannuzzi was taken down by Jennifer "Asia" Cyak 7-3. Ho pulled together five wins, while Iannuzzi won six straight. The match was nip and tuck, with Iannuzzi finally emerging with an 8-7 victory. Gesumaria and Iannuzzi played a close semifinal match, but Gesumaria pulled away toward the end for the 7-5 victory and trip to the final match with Warnock.The final match was both tense and exhilarating, as each player proved why they were there. Gesumaria pulled ahead early 4-1, then each traded games, but the lead grew to 8-3 for Gesumaria. Facing certain defeat, the "Scottish Lion" roared back and won the final six games for a 9-8 come-from-behind tournament victory.
