Elizabeth visited the practice area and shot a quick game with Corey Deuel, who helped her with some techniques and gave her some strategy hints. After Hohmann’s first-round 8-2 victory over Sam Monday, Hohmann said, “Well, that wasn’t my best match. I had three break and run-outs, which was better than yesterday. I think he was the weakest playing in our group and it’s a good start at one-nill. I’m feeling confident and looking forward to playing my matches.”Americans Dennis Hatch lost his first match of the day, which was against Yannick Beaufils, 8-3, while John “Mr. 400” Schmidt lost a hill-hill battle too Sandor Tot of Serbia. Efren “Bata” Reyes delivered an 8-1 blow to Raj Hundal, while Rodolfo Luat defeated Bobby Hunter 8-3. Before his second match, Hundal commented on his first against Gary Abood. “Me and Gary both played well—I think we missed like one tough run-out each. I just broke better. Three break and runs won me the match and set the tone. I was confident but not as confident as Id like to be—I’m a slow starter and I hate those early morning matches.
