Sholes a Sure ThingArizona Women’s Billiard Tour / Peoria, AZA total purse of $1,375 and a WPBA qualifier brough 35 women to Sixshooters in Peoria, AZ. Held the weekend of July 22-23, this stop on the Arizona Women’s Billiard Tour saw Holly Sholes take the top prize with her victory over Susan Mello. Mello and Sholes met in the first match of the day on Sunday, with a landslide 7-0 victory going to Mello. Going on to the hot seat match, Mello defeated Noel Rima soundly.
Fighting back through to the finals, Sholes knew she would have to defeat Mello twice in the finals to win. Though Mello took an early 3-0 lead, Sholes came back to win the next seven racks in a row, winning the first set 7-3. They traded racks in the second set until the score was knotted at 3.
