TK Takes Down Another Pechauer Tour Eventby InsidePOOL StaffFor the second week in a row, Tommy Kennedy has been victorious on the Pechauer Southeast 9-Ball Tour. This week his victim in the finals was Bruce Berrong, and after his tough triumph, Kennedy said humbly, "I really want to thank the Lord for my victory."This week's $1,000-added event was held at The Pool House in Doraville, Georgia. Kennedy said that the room is beautiful and that the smoke-free environment was a pleasure to play in. The tournament was played on Diamond 9-foot tables with tight pockets.Out of the 22 participants, the field narrowed to the final four later on Sunday. The hot seat match saw Berrong defeat Paul Song by the score of 9-4. Meanwhile, Kennedy was playing Ronnie Park in the fourth-place match and defeated his opponent 9-4. Kennedy then went on to play John Brewer and wiped him out 9-0. "I played really good in that match," said Kennedy. "It was the first match I played that good in years. After a long period of time, I'm due to play good."
Kennedy then matched up with Song in the battle to see who would go on to face Berrong and who would take third place home. Kennedy again was triumphant, saying afterwards, "He missed a lot of shots." Song usually is an excellent player, but in this match he seemed to suffer a bit.In the final match, which was an extended race to 13, Kennedy met Berrong head on. Berrong and Kennedy have played many times on the Pechauer Tour, but Berrong has come out on top the last three times. However, Kennedy was due for a win, and this time he pulled it off with a 13-11 victory. Kennedy remarked about his opponent, "He played good, but he didn't play perfect."
