The Russian Wins Joss 9-Ball Tour Event in Lancaster, PAOut of a field of 59 top players, Evgeny Stalev, known as "The Russian" in the pool world, has emerged victorious over Mike Miller in the latest stop on the Joss 9-Ball Tour, which was held on the weekend of March 15-16, 2003, at Diamond Billiards in Lancaster, PA. The room was great, and the equipment fantastic, with the tournament played on Brunswick tables covered with Simonis.Some of the best players in the East made an appearance at the event, including Jarrod Clowery, Mike Davis, Santos Sambajon, Jr., and Frankie Hernandez. Keith McCready was present and was his usual colorful self. In the hot seat match, the score was tied 8-all between Brandon Sluzalis and Evgeny Stalev when Souvalis missed the key 8-ball and gave Stalev the match. Stalev then went on to defeat Mike Miller of Allentown, PA, for first place.
In two weeks, the Joss Tour will have a $5,000-added event at Classic Billiards in Rochester, NY.
