Two in Row for RheeBy Bill Rosenberger For the second straight Planet Pool Ladies' event, Sueyen Rhee swept two sets in the final to earn the comeback victory. This time, she did it at Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville, MD, on December 5, 2004. Rhee actually had a very successful weekend, having finished in a tie for seventeenth at the WPBA event in Florida on Saturday, then traveling north to extend her winning streak. But there were a few other talented players who had other plans. Gwen Dickert was actually the late-round favorite, having dominated the winners' bracket. Dickert and Rhee first played for the hot seat, with the match going hill-hill. Early in the final rack, Dickert left herself a 3-9 combo to take the match 7-6. In the west side, it was Amanda Pasko and My-Hanh Lee battling it out to reach the semifinals against Rhee. Lac pulled ahead and won 5-3, but mostly watched against Rhee in a 5-1 defeat. Dickert and Rhee faced off again in the finals, but Rhee had to win two sets to earn the victory. She had double-dipped Pasko in the last event, so she was no stranger to the format. In the opening set, Rhee dominated Dickert, winning 7-3. The second set was more of the same, although Dickert did manage to keep it close, but Rhee still came out on top 7-5 to complete the finals sweep.
