Ussery Remains Hot With Viking Tour WinBy Bill RosenbergerThe Viking Cue Open 9-Ball Tour ended with another heart-stopping match on February 6 at Numan's Billiards in Johnson City, TN. B.J. Ussery, who won the Planet Pool stop just a week before, again dominated the field to emerge with the win.Ussery and Jason Klatt advanced to Sunday night's hot seat match, and Ussery continued his tough play with a 9-3 win. In the one-loss side, Shawn Putnam was upset by Chris Bartram 9-3, which set up Klatt and Bartram in the semifinals. Bartram had played almost flawlessly on Saturday but fell to Mike Davis early on Sunday. He then barreled through west side and eventually ousted Klatt 9-3 to advance to the finals. Ussery had been in charge all weekend long, but it finally caught up with him in the finals. Bartam needed two sets to claim the victory, and he wasted no time in getting the first with a 9-5 win. In the second set, it looked like Ussery was going to suffer a devastating defeat, as Bartam went up 8-6. But Ussery never gave in, as he clawed his way back to put the match at hill-hill. In the final game, Ussery gained control and calmly ran out to get the 9-8 win.Results:1st B.J.
