Vidal Goes Undefeated at Spin City by Todd Fleitman Spin City Café & Billiards in Woodside, NY, was the site for the March 13 Tri-State Tour handicapped 9-ball event. The tournament was open to "A" through "D" players, and the field did not disappoint in providing the talent. Marc Vidal, one of the highest-ranked players there, won his first five matches, including a hard earned win over Hiram Maldonado in the hot seat. While Vidal waited for an opponent in the finals, Maldonado prepared to face Robert Pole, who had suffered his first and only defeat early in the tournament. Pole continued his winning ways in the semifinals by ousting Maldonado 7-3, leaving him with a third-place finish. In the final match, Pole was trying to complete his comeback against the undefeated Vidal, and he took a step in the right direction by opening with a 2-0 lead, but Vidal stormed back to tie it up. The two traded games back and forth until the match reached hill-hill. In the deciding game, Vidal broke and maintained control of the table to earn a 7-6 victory.Results:1st Marc Vidal2nd Robert Pole3rd Hiram Maldonado4th Jacob Schwartz Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the Tri-State Tour.
