Viking Cue National Championship Event Begins This Week!Sporting a strong $25,000 prize fund, the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour National Championship event is set to begin this Wednesday, November 15, at The Pool Room in Duluth, GA. With the quality of the field, the sheer splendor of the host location, and the experienced tournament staff, this is sure to be one of the best events of the year!The Pool Room is a new luxury billiard establishment with seating for over 200 fans. Open 24 hours during the event, it features 16 new Brunswick Gold Crown IV tables. Also, a triple-shimmed GCVI will be set up in a separate part of the venue to tempt as much action—including ring games—as possible.
The Pool Room also offers plenty of food and drink, and a small fee for general admission guarantees entrance both day and night. The field has been limited to 160 players, and anyone is invited to play!This 9-ball tournament will feature a double-elimination, race-to-11 format with world standardized rules. A dress code will be enforced Thursday through Sunday, and the tournament directors will be Viking Tour Promoter Mike Janis and Scott “The Shot” Smith, who has long been responsible for the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championships. The registration fee is $40 for Viking or Great Southern Tour members and $200 for non-tour members. Though the championship event begins Wednesday after the 4 p.m. players’ meeting, there will be a special tournament Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. With $1,000 added and an entry fee of only $37, it would be well worth showing up early for.
