Top names include banks champion Shannon “The Cannon” Daulton, Leil Gay, Gabe “The Babe” Owen, and Jon Hennessee.Players from as far away as Kansas have flocked to this event, and many have come on their way to the Viking National Tour Championship event, which takes place November 14-19 at The Pool Room in Duluth, GA.
Breakers Sports Bar is the host location, located in Knoxville, TN, which was home to the late, great bank player Eddie “The Knoxville Bear” Taylor. With $2,000 in added purse money, the play is fierce and competitive. The final 16 players will return for Sunday’s matches after Saturday’s elimination rounds, with many top contestants still fighting for the first-place prize. Former U.S. Open champion Owen remains undefeated, as does Eric Winchendahl and Johnny Carson. Daulton escaped a narrow hill-hill defeat over Wayne Elliott to best Dallas Roach and Anthony Morgan to remain in the winners’ side.
