Walden Wins Midwest 9-Ball Tour at Seven Clans' CasinoThe Midwest 9-Ball Tour attracted a whopping 144 talented players to Seven Clans’ Casino the weekend of June 27-29, 2003. This stop saw a total of $7,000 added to the event and paid out 32 places, and the players’ auction raising $11,000. James Walden (pictured to the right), of Oklahoma city, proved once again why he is one of the most feared players in the country as he captured the title.
Steve Rector and Billy Dyke met in the hot seat match, with Dyke defeating his opponent by the score of 9-6. James Walden, after a defeat in the winners’ bracket earlier in the event, fought his way through the one-loss side to meet Dyke in the two-set finals. There he proceeded to double-dip Dyke, who had been undefeated throughout the event until then, and won the set 9-6, 9-2.The Midwest 9-Ball Tour’s next stop will be at Billiard Palace in Tulsa, OK. The one-pocket event will begin on Thursday, July 3, at 8 PM, and the 9-ball event will start at 11 AM on Saturday, July 5.
