White Overcomes Surgery and Lampert to Earn WinBy InsidePOOL StaffThe Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9-Ball Tour sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues held its first ladies event on January 9 at the new Fast Eddie's location on FM1960 West in Houston, TX.  While the field wasn't huge, the talent was, as many of last year's winners were on hand to try to open up the year with a win.  Kim White, Anne Mayes, and Amanda Lampert all made splashes in 2004, but White ousted Lampert in the finals to start her year off right.  White, though, may have been the underdog (no pun intended) after recently undergoing extensive surgery on her bridge hand.  The problem: Her dog bit into her hand and injured it severely.Lampert, a five-time winner in 2004, was an early favorite after her wins over Sherry Smith and Michelle Carter.  In the third round, she met White, who had also dominated in her wins over Helen Hayes and Audra Carter.  White gave her a tough match and came out on top 7-3, forcing Lampert to go to work in the one-loss side.  While White cruised through the field to reach the finals, Lampert racked up win after win to stay alive.  Her victory in the semifinals over Mayes, a former touring pro, propelled her to a rematch with White.  But in the finals, White proved that her hand was just fine, cruising to a 7-3 victory.Results:1st Kim White $5202nd Amanda Lampert $3203rd Anne Mayes $2004th Audra Carter $120  Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the Fast Eddie's 9-Ball Tour.
