Wiseman Wins Detroit Viking Event  The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour had another successful $1,000-added event this past weekend in Detroit, MI.  The field of 42 players came out to Snookers, a million-dollar room, and fought to see who would come out on top.  Early tournament favorites were definitely Canadian Ronnie Wiseman and Francisco Diaz.  This time, Ronnie Wiseman defeated fellow Canadian Robert Chaperon 7-3 in the finals.
Voted the best room in Detroit, Snookers has a custom-made chandelier in its front room with dangling pool balls, and all of its decorations encompass a pool theme.  The tournament took place on seven of the Brunswick Gold Crowns.  As testament to how well he was playing, Wiseman played Aaron Aldridge and only allowed his opponent two shots during the entire 7-0 match.  Alridge went on to take fifth place.  In the quarterfinals, Cass Marcinkowski, the manager of Hall of Fame Billiards in Detroit, met Mark Hosler.  In the hill match, Hosler played a great safe on the 3 ball, and Marcinkowski came with a fantastic kick that knocked in the 3 and gave him position on the 5.  He ran out the rack, defeating Hosler and relegating him to fourth place.  The match for the hot seat was between Wiseman and Marcinkowski, who was defeated 7-3.  Marcinkowski then went on to play Chaperon and lost 7-4, ending up in third place.  This set up the finals between Wiseman and Chaperon, who had bought himself in the players auction for a mere $10.  Chaperon fought the good fight, but succumbed to Wiseman 7-3.1st - Ronnie Wiseman2nd - Robert Chaperon3rd - Cass Marcinkowski4th - Mark Hosler5th/6th - Eloi Molina, Aaron Aldridge7th/8th - Terry Bailey, Mike Sardelli9th/12th - Mark Ritter, Luke Jacko, Tim Gerber, Francisco DiazThe total payout for this event was $2,780.  Doug Adkins was the lucky winner of Viking's cue raffle.  Viking's event next weekend will take place at Randolph's Billiards in Hickory, NC, and will have $1,000 added.
