World Open Entering Fourth RoundTwo ladies won in the third round: Allison Fisher, ranked number one by the WPBA, routed John DiToro 8-1, and Helena Thornfeldt defeated Howard Vickery by a close 8-6 margin. Otherwise, road man Jonathan “Lil Jon” Macias defeated Monica Webb, currently ranked number three by the WPBA, Brit Karl Boyes bested Robin Dodson 8-4, and Ralph Eckert whitewashed Miyuki Sakai. Jasmin Ouschan had the round off and will play Roland at 5:30 p.m. and Earl Strickland in the last round of the day.Discuss the IPT World Open 8-Ball ChampionshipVisit the IPT World Open 8-Ball Championship Image Gallery “I feel good—much better this event,” Thornfeldt confirmed. “The last event … I felt prepared going in, then once I got there I felt intimidated. I’m real happy now, I’ve been working hard on my game. I went home and totally redid my game. I know I’m a great player, and I don’t need to feel like this. I can  play, so I just built myself a new routine and I feel great. I’m two and one after three matches. I think its very tough. Of course if I win, I will be guaranteed, but I could maybe still advance. I’m going to play the last match real hard—it’s a good player who just beat Corey. I think every match is  a great match, and I’m just trying to play my game.”
The three Filipinos that played in today’s matches all won their 3:00 p.m. matches. Canada’s Edwin Montal defeated Colin Colenso 8-5, Ramil Gallego won 8-5 over Toni Judet, and Santos Sambajon Jr. survived a hill-hill match against Brady Gollon. The US is still going strong. Dark horse Jason Kirkwood defeated French trick shot artist Vincent Facquet 8-6, and San Diego’s Jeff Beckley bested Funnar Leonardo 8-6. “Earthquake” Keith McCready won his first match of the day against Laurent Travers 8-6, which included two break and runs. Aaron Czetli of Ohio upset “California Kid” Kim Davenport 8-6, and Shannon “The Cannon” Daulton squeaked by Brian Saleh in their double-hill match.Johnny Archer eked out an 8-7 win over Japan’s Akikumo Toshikawa in the third round. On the hill 7-6, Toshikawa was forced to stretch for his final 8 ball and missed. He sat in his chair for the remainder of the match as Archer cleared that rack and then broke and ran the following to win.Dennis “The Hatchetman” Hatch met January IPT addition Jason Miller, the current World All-Around champion, in the third round and won by an 8-6 margin. “I felt good, but I felt great at the beginning of the match,” Hatch averred. “I was breaking good and making them on the break—I ran three or four racks and had him seven-two. Then I broke and scratched—he kinda put me to sleep in the chair, played real slow and racked his own balls, so I didn’t even out of the chair. Basically I got lackadaisical, got lazy. I went to the bathroom and came back, should have run out, but I miscued. Then he got out again but broke and didn’t make one, so I ran out.”“I feel like I’m playing great,” Hatch added brightly. “I’m breaking the balls good and getting out good. But for some reason I got a little tired. I’m two and oh and looking good right now and confident for the last two.”Round 1            GROUP 1T. HohmannS. MooreL. JonesW. KiamcoJ. RaneyGROUP 2M.
