Young Amplifies to Two Pechauer WinsJ. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour / Atlanta, GAby InsidePOOL StaffAtlanta, GA, is good to billiard player Doug Young, for he won his second J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour stop in a row there December 3. Triumphing over a field of billiards players that included house pro Johnny “The Scorpion” Archer, Young scooped the $1,000-added event, which was hosted by the upscale billiard room, Mr. Cues 2.
Young didn’t take the easy route—he worked his way through the one-loss side, facing down Archer in the quarterfinals and defeating the former Player of the Year 9-5. Clint McCullough came through the winners’ bracket to meet Eugene Brown in the hot seat match, only to send him to the one-loss side after a tough hill-hill struggle. Brown couldn’t make the rematch, falling to Young 9-4 in the semis. But in the final match, McCullough seemed out of steam as Young rolled past, winning the match 11-4.The J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour’s next stop will be December 9-10 at Double Hill Billiard Club in Hixson, TN.
